I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to go marlin fishing. It held a spot deep in my heart since it was one thing me and my grandfather had always dreamed of doing. We were never afforded the chance to go due to him finding out on my birthday while I was in Afghanistan that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I was able to make it home just in time to say goodbye. However, we did not get to do many of the things we had dreamed of doing; and now because of Combat Warriors Inc., we are able to cross that off of our bucket list.
Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for what you guys have done for all of us and would I would definitely love to be a part of any further Combat Warriors Inc. event. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for what you men do, I will personally do all that I can for Combat Warriors Inc.!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for my experience on the Combat Warriors Deer Hunt in Franklin County this past November. The Combat Warriors organization and all the local supporters made this event absolutely unforgettable. Owning a company in the outdoor industry I know firsthand the logistical requirements it takes to plan, resource, and execute such an event. Being also an Active Duty member of the United States Army, I believe that I’m also speaking for many the fact that organizations such as the Combat Warriors and all the supports of these events are the true American heroes. I am looking forward to attending and supporting any future events that Combat Warriors conducts. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I have attended several of the Combat Warrior events. These guys are by far some of the greatest Americans that I have known. The events bring warriors in contact with appreciating Americans who understand and appreciate their sacrifice and really give these warriors an awesome experience.
I was invited to attend a duck hunt hosted by Combat Warriors in January 2013. Not knowing what to expect, a buddy and I arrived prepared to sleep in our truck and eat canned tuna for the weekend. Instead, we’re instantly welcomed by the members and given the red carpet treatment. The hospitality shown to us in all aspects (the hunting, accommodation, meals and events) was first class. On top of that, we also were able to shoot our limit of ducks and build some lasting relationships. Combat Warriors is made up of true patriots and I am humbled to be invited to participate.
Thank you for the opportunity to hunt and fish with Combat Warriors. The experiences I have had with you and the guys from Oregon Inlet and the Great Ditch have been first class. I love the outdoors and have always enjoyed being out fishing and hunting with good people. The ocean fishing and duck hunting have given me the opportunity to once again enjoy activities I have always loved that had taken a back seat to my military career. I was quite angry with my military career ending and recovering from some very severe wounds, and participating in events with Combat Warriors has been a big part of my recovery and therapy. As you know I can’t hit a flying duck to save my life, but the time spent with good people in a duck blind and in the lodge is the real therapy. All activities and people with your group have been great and special care has been taken to accommodate every warrior’s needs and limitations to ensure they receive first class treatment and a great adventure.
For me, I am very proud to have had the opportunity to get to know you and all of the warriors. Your organization has given me a chance to relax, and refresh my mind and body while getting back to activities that I never thought I would be able to experience again. I have made lifelong friends and look forward to participating and helping with future events.
I was fortunate enough to participate in the annual Hyde Co. Great Ditch Road Duck Hunt for two years. I took away experiences, memories and friendships that I forged on these hunts that I will always value. The organizers and sponsors that come out to honor the Combat Warriors are truly great Americans who unselfishly give their time and effort to put on a great hunt. U.S. Service members are incredibly fortunate that there are organizations like Combat Warriors that exist to honor and show gratitude for the sacrifices they made.
The event consisted of four awesome duck hunts with first class guides in an area of North Carolina located right next to a wildlife refuge where we had the opportunity to bag our limit of ducks each day we went out. The accommodations and food were all provided by Bill Warren and the members of the Great Ditch Road Hunt Club, as well as other great patriots who contributed their time and efforts.
Participating in any of the hunting or fishing adventures hosted by Combat Warriors is an opportunity no one should pass up.
For the short time I’ve been with the program I couldn’t ask for anything more. Everyone that works for the program and all the volunteers are great people who really care about us soldiers and it is much appreciated!
In the beginning of 2011 I was introduced to the men of the Great Ditch Road Hunt Club. Little did I know how much of an impact that these men, who are now known as Combat Warriors Inc, would have on my life physically and mentally. I was a spine injury in 2006. I spent the better part of 4 years going through surgeries, procedures and therapy, all the while wondering if I would ever be able to enjoy the hobbies that I grew up doing. These hobbies all involved the outdoors. When you have a spine injury every doctor you talk to will have a different opinion than the next doctor, but one opinion that they all shared was that I would never hunt or fish again nor was it even recommended. For 4 years this is what was preached to me from every specialist and every therapist I came in contact with. I was told to find something “sedative” to do and stick with it. It wasn’t till my last surgery in Nov. 2009 that the doctor told me the same that I made a decision to attempt to prove them wrong. In Jan. 2011 I was presented the opportunity to go on a duck hunt by a friend of mine. Needless to say, I thought twice but decided that I would do it. All of the doctors and surgeons sayings were constantly going through my head when I decided to go on this particular hunt. All in all, my nerves were a wreck on my way to the hunt. Was I gonna prove the doctors right or was I gonna prove them wrong? When I arrived at the duck hunt, I met some of the most genuine, down to earth men I’ve ever met. Not once did my injuries or medical condition come up in conversation. Not once did I hear them say, “are you sure you can do this?” For the entire weekend all I heard from them was, “you can do this,” “good shot,” “come on Dean, you’re going with us.” Before I knew it, all those doctors’ voices were gone from my mind completely. These gentlemen showed me that “I could” instead of “I can’t.” To me, they are all a “hero’s hero.” Since that first duck hunt, I’ve been on two more duck hunts with them including a deep sea fishing trip and since returning home to PA. I have returned to my hobbies that I grew up to love, and it’s all because of a group of men from the best parts of North Carolina. My hat is off and my head is bowed to these men for the rest of my life.
One way to describe the combat warrior hunt is, absolutely AMAZING! Hands down the most fun I’ve ever had on a single hunt in my life. I participated in the deer hunt this year, in December which was awesome, we never wanted or needed for everything, and they really put us on the deer, after my deer was harvested they had it processed for me for free, and to top that off Mr. Bill personally drove the meat all the way to Jacksonville, NC and dropped it off to us combat warriors, a two and a half hour drive. These ladies and gentlemen are 100% top notch folks who really support our warriors. If there were more people like this the world would be a lot better place. The second hunt I went on was the duck hunt this year, and was incredible. Everyone got ducks, even banded ducks which are few and far between. I saw ducks I’ve never even seen before and I’ve been hunting ducks for 15 years. The camaraderie was so enjoyable, and there was so much gear issued to the warriors to keep after the hunt, waders, shells, duck calls, you name it, it was supplied. Not to mention we ate like kings. This is a great thing that’s going on here and I hope and pray it continues. There’s no way I could remember everyone’s name, but I really, really want to thank everyone that made this possible, thank you for all the land we hunted on and the facilities used. And thanks for making people’s dreams come true.
